The Fiji women’s basketball team must now beat New Zealand to qualify for the 2008 Olympics in Beijing.

The gold medalist side at the Pacific Games lost their opening match to Australia by 136 points to 32 in the Oceania qualifying tournament last night in Dunedin.

Fiji will play against New Zealand tonight at 7:40 and a win will guarantee them a place in the Olympics while a loss will see them play in the repecharge against a European team in June to have any chance of making a trip to Beijing.
