The Fiji's women’s hockey side has beaten Vanuatu 17-1 in round one of the Federation of International hockey league and Oceania Pacific cup.

Fiji looked to be cruising in this game as Vanuatu proved to be no match for the national side. 

Fiji was leading 11 goals to nil at half time.

Meanwhile, earlier today Lee Vahn Dutta scored five goals for the Fiji men’s hockey side as they beat Papua New Guinea 7 nil.

Fiji’s other goal scorers were John Ah Tong and Cecil Smith.

In other results the Australian country women’s side thrashed Papua New Guinea 7 nil while the men’s team hammered Vanuatu 9-1.

The tournament continues tomorrow.
