The Vodafone Fiji 7s team has won the Plate final of the New Zealand 7s tournament after beating Australia 24‑nil.
It was a hard-fought first half as the national side managed to score the first points of the game right on half time through Captain Osea Kolinisau.
Fiji led Australia 7‑0 at the break.
The 7s side further increased their lead after the break as Australia decided to kick and play in Fiji's territory. Fiji countered deep from their own half and got a try through Sitiveni Waqa as the side led 12‑0.
Semi Kunatani extended the lead after crossing over before Samisoni Viriviri sealed the victory with the last try.
Final score: Fiji 24‑ Australia 0.
Looking at the HSBC 7s World Series table South Africa still leads with 76 points, New Zealand has moved to second place with 69 points, Fiji in third place with 64 while Australia is on 58 points.

The Vodafone Fiji 7s team lost to England 26‑21 in their Cup quarterfinal clash of the New Zealand 7s.
England started the match strongly scoring two tries after Jasa Veremalua was shown the yellow card in the early stages of the game.
Fiji finally got on the scoring sheet after Savenaca Rawaca crossed over in the dying stages of the first half for Fiji to trail 7‑14 at half time.
England started the second half strongly as Marcus Watson crossed over for their third try to lead 21‑7.
Fiji hit back as Savenaca Rawaca scored his second try to close the gap to 14‑21.
With a few minutes remaining from full time, Fiji managed to tie up the game and send it to extra time after Vatemo Ravouvou dived over the try line.
England had the last say during extra time as Christian Lewis‑Pratt raced over the try line to send them to the Cup Semifinals.
Final score: Fiji 21 England 26
Meanwhile Fiji beat USA 12-10 to book their place in the Plate final at 6.53pm.
They will meet Australia in the Plate final who beat Kenya 21-5.
In other matches, England scored a last minute try to beat Scotland 24-19 and qualify for the Cup final while New Zealand beat South Africa 17-7 in the second Cup semifinal.
England will meet New Zealand in the Cup final at 7.55pm tonight.
