The Digicel Fiji Sevens team has won the Edinburgh Sevens after beating South Africa in a nail biting match by 20-19 this morning in the finals.
Digicel Fiji Sevens team co-captains Emosi Vucago and Vereniki Goneva led by example after they scored a try each in the first half.
Other tries came from Pio Tuwai and Osea Kolinisau.
Speaking from Murrayfield Stadium after the win, coach Iliesa Tanivula said they took South Africa to the wire.
Fiji beat New Zealand in the quarterfinals 26-19 and Wales in the semifinals 28-14 to make it to the finals with 2008/2009 IRB Series winners, South Africa.
Meanwhile, USA beat Canada by 12 points to 10 to take the Shield, a tired looking England edged past six-man France 26-15 to claim the Bowl and New Zealand beat Trans-Tasman rivals Australia 34-12 to take the Plate.
Looking at the points table after the Edinburgh Sevens, South Africa is in first place on 132, Fiji is second on 102 and England is third on 98 points.
