Fiji will be represented in six sports at this year’s Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland.

The sports include Athletics, Judo, Lawn Bowls, Shooting, Swimming and Weightlifting.

Team Fiji Chef de Mission Linda Fisher said they have set a selection criteria where an athlete is eligible if they were in the top four in the Oceania or finished in the top four in a credible competition in the past 12 months.

Fisher added that the organizing committee of the Glasgow Games will provide $US100,000 grant to all competing associations to help for the preparations.

Team Fiji is currently finalizing the nominations of Section Managers and Coaches before the names will be submitted to the board for approval.

Final entries for the games will be closed on the 11th of next month.

The Commonwealth Games will be held in Scotland from the 23rd of July to the 3rd of August.
