The World Cup soccer qualifying match between Fiji and the New Zealand All Whites will not go ahead tomorrow.
It has been confirmed that the match has been postponed due to disappointment expressed from the world's governing body FIFA, that Fiji's top goalkeeper Simione Tamanisau was denied entry into New Zealand because his father-in-law to be, has links to the Fiji Military Forces.
Oceania Football Confederation's Gordon Watson said they had no choice but to call off the match and it is not clear at this stage whether the return leg will go ahead next Wednesday at Lautoka's Churchill Park.
Fiji soccer team coach Carlos Buzetti said they are happy that the match has been called off.
He said their next step will be to ask FIFA to forfeit the match and give the three points to Fiji.
Meanwhile, New Zealand Foreign Minister Winston Peters said FIFA has made an unjust decision in postponing the match.
Speaking to Newstalk ZB in New Zealand Peters said he is deeply disappointed the match will not go ahead and is a complete U-turn by FIFA.
Peters said no one has the right to a visa. He said entry to another country is a privilege and all countries retain the right to exclude individuals in accordance with their immigration policy. He said sporting bodies do not determine those policies.
Peters said the Government is looking at what assistance it can offer New Zealand football, which will be adversely affected by FIFA's "unjust" decision.
