Fiji under stress-Methodist Church
Deputy General Secretary, Reverend Tuikilakila Waqairatu said that recent reports involving women and babies is due to the social stress brought about by events of December 2005.
Speaking to Radio Australia, Waqaitaru said that events like when a mother was charged for drowning her two children and reports of babies found in a blocked sewer shows that the leadership in a country does indeed affect people.
In response, Interim Prime Minister Commodore Frank Bainimarama said Reverand Waqairatu should declare publicly whether he is the Deputy General Secretary of the Methodist Church or the SDL party.
Bainimarama adds that Waqairatu is creating alot of problems by not talking about the solutions to problems that he has stated.
Bainimarama also said that the Reverand should provide evidence to his claims and then compare the SDL Government to the Interim Government.
The Interim Prime Minister said the People's Charter is a good forum where people can go to, to give their solutions to problems.
