The Digicel Fiji sevens team finished at top of their pool despite losing to Wales 22-19 last night and will face England in the second cup quarter final today at 2:20pm.

High penalty count in the match was very costly for Fiji as Wales came back in the second half scoring two tries to snatch victory.

Fiji scored three tries through Benito Eremasi, Osea Kolinisau and Sakiusa Nadruku while Vucago Banitabua copped a yellow card just before halftime.

Head Coach Ben Ryan said we have to be patient as they are aiming for consistency.

Ryan earlier said that it will be hard for him personally meeting England this week but that will not affect his new role.

The Cup quarterfinals kick off at 1.58pm with New Zealand taking on Samoa, Fiji will meet England at 2:20pm, Australia face Kenya at 2:42pm while South Africa will take on Wales in the last quarter final at 3:04pm.

The Cup semis kicks off at 5.58pm and the Cup final will be played at 9.04pm.

The Gold Coast 7s starts today at 12:30pm with bowl quarter finals.
