The Vodafone Fiji 7s team will meet USA in the Wellington 7s quarter finals today after they defeated Argentina 31‑10 in their last pool game.
Fiji ran in five tries with Vatemo Ravouvou and Sevuloni Mocenacagi crossing over twice plus an opening try from Savenaca Rawaca.
Lanky forward Jasa Veremalua will still be available for selections for the quarter finals despite being sin binned for a high tackle.
Coach Ben Ryan says he will assess the players performance from Day One before selecting his side against USA in the quarter finals.
Meanwhile series top points scorer Vatemo Ravouvou added 33 more points in Day One and has extended his lead in the Highest Points Scorer table.
Ryan says he is proud of Ravouvou's achievement.
Fiji will take on USA at 1.08pm today.
In the other quarter finals, New Zealand will meet Kenya at 12.02pm, England will face Argentina at 12.24pm while South Africa will take on Australia at 12.46pm.
Should Fiji beat USA in the quarter finals, they will meet the winner of South Africa and Australia in the semifinals.
If the national side go past the semifinals, then they are likely to meet defending champions New Zealand should the host go past the quarters and semifinals as well.
The Cup semis start at 4.27pm while the Cup final kicks off at 7.30pm.
Looking at the last game in Day 1, Sonny Bill Williams, whose misplaced offload had threatened to cost New Zealand dear minutes earlier showed his class with a sublime out‑the‑back pass to set up the matchwinner.
