The Fiji Airways Men’s national 7s team has made it to the semifinal of the Hamilton 7s after they overcame Samoa 12-10 in the quarterfinal.
Fiji will now face New Zealand in the first semi final at 3.49pm.
It was a physical match between the two rivals.
Fiji was leading at half-time 7-5.
Fiji scored the first try through Sevuloni Mocenacagi in the 4th minute with Amenoni Nasilasila converting from out wide, Fiji took a 7-0 lead.
Samoa scored just before half-time to reduce the gap to 7-5.

Fiji coach Gareth Baber told the players at half-time to keep possession and to make good tackles.
However Samoa scored the first try of the second half as they took a 10-7 lead.
From there it was a see-saw battle between the rivals before Kalione Nasoko raced away to score the winning try for the national team.
After the game coach Gareth Baber told World Rugby Sevens that they did not give up.
In another quarterfinal, New Zealand beat England 19-12.

New Zealand 7s veteran Tim Mikkelson told World Rugby Sevens that they anticipate a tough match against Fiji and they will have to be on their best defence through out the game.
