Great offloading skills from the Vodafone Fiji Sevens team saw them beat Australia 19‑12 in their Cup quarterfinal match of the Dubai Sevens and secure a Cup semifinal match with bitter rivals New Zealand.

New Zealand beat Samoa 24‑21 in their Cup quarterfinal match.

Impressive counter attacking play led to an Isake Katonibau try in the first half and this gave Fiji an early 7‑0 lead against Australia.

Australia came back and registered five points on the scoreboard when Pama Fou crossed over in the corner.

Fiji led 7‑5 at half time.

Captain, Osea Kolinisau scored the first try in the second half and further gave Fiji a 12‑5 lead.

This was soon followed by a try from Savenaca Rawaca to give Fiji a 19‑5 lead.

At least four offloads were made to create the try by Savenaca Rawaca.

Australia fought back and scored a try through the form of Lewis Holland, but it was not enough for a win.

Fiji will face New Zealand in the first Cup semifinal of the 2015 Dubai Sevens at 1.41am tomorrow.

England will meet USA in the second Cup semifinal at 2.03am while the Cup final is at 4.48am tomorrow.

USA defeated reigning Dubai 7s champions South Africa 21-19 while England beat Argentina 14-7.
