The Vodafone Fiji 7's team has beaten New Zealand 14-12 in a nail biting clash in their last pool game of the Las Vegas 7's and will now meet France in the quarter finals.

New Zealand score the first try of the match from Joe Webber before Savenaca Rawaca scored Fiji’s first try in the 2nd minute of the first half.

The second try was scored by lanky forward Semi Kunatani who sliced through the strong defence of Lote Raikabula and Sam Dickson early in the second half.

Both teams were leveled 7 all at half time before coach Ben Ryan urged the players to communicate and control possession.

Ryan added they still have a lot to improve on before the quarter finals.

Fiji will take on France at 1.14pm in the first cup quarter finals, followed by South Africa and England at 1.36, the third quarter finals sees New Zealand and Australia at 1.58 while USA takes on Canada at 2.20pm in the last quarters.

The Cup semis will kick off at 8.32am tomorrow while the final of the Las Vegas 7s will start at 11.25am tomorrow.

South Africa is the defending champions of the Vegas 7's.
