The Vodafone Fiji 7s team has qualified for the Cup quarter finals of the Scotland 7s after thrashing Wales 45-nil in its last pool match this morning.

Fiji’s defensive structure stood out in the match and they scored seven unanswered tries to claim the victory.

Speedster Samisoni Viriviri continued his fine performance scoring two early tries while Viliame Mata, Waisea Nacuqu, Vatemo Ravouvou, Leo Naikasau and Donasio Ratubuli all scored a try each.

Fiji led 26-nil at halftime.

Fiji defeated Argentina in their first pool match 26-7 and later beat Kenya 24-17 in their second pool match.

Fiji will meet England in the second Cup quarterfinal at 11.20 tonight. 

New Zealand will play Australia in the first Cup quarterfinal at 10.58pm. 

In two other quarterfinals, Scotland will face South Africa while Canada will play Kenya.

The Cup semifinals will be at 2:58am and the Cup final will be played at 5:50am tomorrow.

Meanwhile, earlier this morning New Zealand beat Samoa 26-7, England defeated France 21-5, South Africa thrashed Portugal 38-nil while Scotland beat Australia 19-7.
