The Vodafone Fiji 7s team will meet Australia in the cup quarterfinals of the Paris 7s tonight.
Australia finished second from Pool B after losing to South Africa 0-31 in the Pool C decider.
Meanwhile Fiji thrashed Samoa 42-5 in their last pool match to top pool B.
The national side scored six tries to outclass the physical Samoan side.
Fiji’s tries came in from Josua Tuisova, Jasa Veremalua, Leone Nakarawa, Amenoni Nasilasila while Waisea Nayacalevu scored a double.
Fiji was leading 21-0 at halftime.
Josua Tuisova and Leone Nakarawa continue to prove themselves heading to the cup quarterfinals.
Meanwhile, Waisea Nayacalevu and Tila Mealoi from the Samoan side were both yellow carded in the beginning of the second half after an off the ball scuffle.
Fiji will now meet Australia in the quarterfinals at 10.19 tonight.
In other quarterfinals, New Zealand will meet Argentina at 9.13pm, South Africa will take on Samoa while France will face Kenya in the third quarters.
The Cup semifinals will start at 1.03am tomorrow while the Cup final will kick off at 4.15am tomorrow.
