Fiji has been chosen to host the Oceania Cross Country Championship in Denarau in September this year. 

It will be a long distance race.

Athletics Fiji Acting President Dr Ayoade Alakija has confirmed following discussions with the Oceania Athletics Association for the last few weeks, yesterday they were notified about the decision.

She said athletes from all the countries from the Oceania region including Australia and New Zealand are expected to participate in this championship.

Alakija hopes for a good foreign and local turnout where the tourism industry will surely benefit.


Meanwhile, a 5km race of distance road running was held today in Denarau as the lead up to this Championship.
