Fiji will play South Africa in the first semifinal of the Gold Coast 7s at 5:58pm after beating Samoa 19-7.
The Digicel Fiji 7s team put up a courageous defensive game against Samoa in the quarter finals.
Samoa threw in all they could but Fiji's defense stood out with captain Lepani Botia leading form the front.
Joji Ragamate scored twice for the national side while Alipate Ratini showed some individual brilliance to score the third try.
Ilai Tinai was shown the yellow card in the second half for shouldering a player and not using his hands in the tackle.
The Samoans just managed to cross the Fiji try line after normal time.
The final will be played at 9:02pm.
Meanwhile, Kenya defeated Australia 19-14 to meet New Zealand in the second semifinal at 6:20pm.
