The Vodafone Fiji 7s will now meet Argentina at 2:39pm today in the cup quarterfinals of the New Zealand 7s.

The national side defeated Spain in their last pool match 45 14 last night.

In the game against Spain, Fiji retained most of their kick offs and dominated every phase of the game with Semi Kunatani and Samu Saqiwa leading the charge in the forwards as the side scored five tries to lead 33-0 at half time.

In the second half, Jona Tuitoga and Emosi Mulevoro both touched down for their second try as Fiji proceeds to the quarters unbeaten.

However, Spain proved why Fiji should improve on their defense after brushing aside tackles to score two late tries in the second half.

Samisoni Viriviri, Lepani Botia, Benito Masilevu and Osea Kolinisau were rested by coach Ben Ryan.

The Vodafone Fiji 7s team earlier beat New Zealand 12-7 and France 26-5.

In other cup quarterfinals, defending champions England will take on Samoa at 1.33pm, New Zealand play Canada at 1.55pm while Australia face South Africa at 2.17pm.

The Cup semifinals will be held at 5.35pm while the Cup final kicks off at 8.30 tonight.
 
Looking at the results from last night, England beat South Africa 19-5, Australia defeated Samoa 15-12, New Zealand hammered France 47-0, Kenya thumped Tonga 40-7, USA drew 19-all with Scotland, Wales beat Portugal 45-19 and Canada beat Argentina 24-5.
