Fiji is soon expected to explore trade potentials with Egypt in a bid to strengthen its international trade links.

Egypt’s Ambassador to Fiji Omar Metwally Mohammad, who was in the country last week confirms that his visit had given him the opportunity to strengthen trade relations with Fiji.

Metwally said while Egypt is determined to develop relations with Fiji in all aspects of trade, one of the key sectors targeted at the moment is the development of the tourism industry.

He said he is intending to send some businessmen to see and inspect the potential grounds and the possibility to start the trade and said he is sure that there are alot of potentials for trade with Fiji.

The Ambassador also said that they appreciate Fiji's contribution towards the multinational force in Sinai, in which Fiji has been participating since 1982 and they now have around 352 soldiers there.
