Digicel Fiji 7's coach Iliesa Tanivula will use their 11 year losing drought in the opening leg of the IRB 7's series in Dubai this evening to motivate his players.
Speaking after his side wrapped up their preparation yesterday, Tanivula said they cannot be judged on the past teams and the players will have to believe in each other to deliver the result which has evaded them since 1998.
While Fiji is one of the major forces to be reckoned after finishing second in the overall series standing last season, Tanivula said it is time to move a step up.
For defending champion, South Africa coach Paul Treu knows they are going to be the target for a number of other teams and they will have to be at their best to retain their title.
Also hoping for a good start to their season will be the New Zealand side who has dominated most of the IRB 7's series since its inception 11 years ago.
7's guru Gordon Tietjens after been without a win in the last season said Dubai is a chance for him to stamp his mark as the best coach in the code.
Fiji's opening pool game tonight in Dubai is at 6.20pm against Scotland their next pool opponent is Zimbabwe at 9.56pm and the last pool game at 3.30am they will take on Samoa.
