National Soccer Coach, Gurjeet Singh will rely on experience in his side’s opening pool match of the Pacific Games against Tahiti this afternoon.

The likes of captain, Simione Tamanisau, Malakai Tiwa, Alvin Avinesh, Lorima Dau and Esava Naqeleca will spearhead the Fiji team as they will be out to open Team Fiji’s campaign with a win.

Fiji last won the gold medal in the 2003 Games and the current team knows that defending champion New Caledonia will be the favourites playing on their home turf.

The Fiji and Tahiti game kicks off at 4pm and later in the evening the 2011 Pacific Games will official opened.
