We don't have the Harbour Bridge or fancy high rise buildings but tonight's action for Earth Hour will be significant and symbolic for Fiji and the Pacific.
Less than three hours away from Earth Hour, WWF's Ashwini Prabha said in Suva, the first city in the world to switch off, will see paddlers releasing candles out on the water at the Suva Harbour to signify their support for Earth Hour.
Prabha said excitement is in the air for Earth Hour tonight and she said this really looks like a countrywide switch off tonight.
A number of people, including the Interim Prime Minister, business houses and households have pledged their support for Earth Hour tonight which starts at 8 to 9pm.
The WWF initiative is for everyone to switch off all their unnecessary power in order to support global climate change, conserve power and reduce gas emissions.
