The Vodafone Fiji 7s team thrashed Samoa 40–0 in their opening pool match of the Sydney 7s.
Speedster Joeli Lutumailagi was the star of the show as he continued to show his brilliance as a top finisher to score the first two tries of the match.
Fiji led 26-0 at halftime.
Other tries in the match were scored by Jasa Veremalua, Jerry Tuwai, Osea Kolinisau and Emosi Mulevoro.
Nacanieli Labalaba impressed on debut as he broke the Samoan defense line at his touch of the ball.
Fiji will play their second game against Wales at 2.42pm and the final pool match is against France at 8.29 tonight.
The Gold Medal Quarter Finals will start at 12.58pm tomorrow, the semis will start at 4.53pm while the final will kick off at 7.51pm.
Barring any upsets Fiji may meet New Zealand, Scotland or Australia in the quarterfinal.
In other results, USA defeated Argentina 22-19, Canada beat Russia 12-7, Wales edged France 14-12, England defeated Kenya 19-12 while NZ beat Australia 26-14.
