The Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s team has struggled in their second pool match of the Sydney 7s after defeating Russia 24-0 this afternoon.

The national sevens side were starved of possession from the Russians and could only score four tries.

It took Fiji five minutes to score their first try through Amenoni Nasilasila before Eroni Sau scored their second try before half-time as they led Russia 14-0.

Fiji looked tired as they spent most of the time defending as the Russians managed to keep the scores close.

The other tries were scored by Josua Vakurinabili and captain Jerry Tuwai in the second half.

Fiji will now play New Zealand at 8.42 tonight.

The quarterfinals will start at 12.28pm tomorrow, the semifinals are at 6.36pm while the final will kick off at 9.48pm tomorrow.
