The Fiji soccer team will have to wait for another 5 years to make their long term dream a reality.

The Carlos Buzetti coached side is out of the 2010 World Cup Soccer qualifying rounds after they were beaten 4-0 by New Caledonia last night in Noumea.

Fiji will not even qualify for the 2009 FIFA Confederations Cup. They needed to win this match to put pressure on favorites New Zealand.

It's now a two-horse-race for a place in the World Cup soccer playoffs and FIFA Confederation Cup.

New Zealand leads the competition with 9 points and just need a win against New Caledonia next year in February to seal their place from Oceania region while New Caledonia also has a chance to qualify.
