The Fiji soccer team may have a new captain for the World Cup qualifying round matches against New Zealand, Vanuatu and New Caledonia.
Ba soccer defender Peni Finau who led the team in the Pacific Games is likely to be replaced by either team-mate Malakai Kanahawe or New Zealand based Pita Rabo.
Coach Carlos Buzetti said they have three candidates who can guide the team but the final decision will be made in New Zealand next week.
The Fiji soccer team will open their World Cup qualifying campaign against the New Zealand All Whites next Saturday at 2:45pm in North Harbour.
