Fiji should have elections by Jan 2009
While reacting to comments from the Military Spokesperson, Lt Colonel Mosese Tikoitoga that Fiji could become like PNG or the Solomons if the assassination plan was executed, PCPI's Angie Heffernan said Fiji is already becoming like those countries after the December 5th takeover.
Meanwhile, Ballu Khan is expected to be released today from the CWM Hospital.
His lawyer Tevita Fa has confirmed this with Village News saying that Khan had recovered from a broken jaw and facial after being arrested by police and the military at Delainavesi, Lami last week.
The President of the Fiji Law Society, Isireli Fa said the independence of the DPP's office must not be compromised in any manner or form and the Law Society fully stands behind the office of the DPP.
Fa said a lot has been said about the alleged assassination plot but people should respect the judicial process after the arrest of the eleven suspects.
He said the Police Force should also conduct its own investigations to clear the air on the allegations in relation to alleged police brutality.
