Fiji shooters caught everyone by surprise at the Pacific games yesterday as favorite's New Caledonia were stopped from winning gold.
Glen Cable won gold for Fiji in the double barrel individual event while Fiji also won in the double barrel team event.
Speaking to Fijivillage from New Caledonia, Cable said everything worked in their favour in the historic win.
Meanwhile, Team Manager, Henry Stephens said it was history in making as it is not easy to beat New Caledonia in their backyard.
Fiji shooters will be competing in the Double Barrel team and single barrel event in an hour’s time.
Meanwhile, Fiji is now placed fourth on the medals tally with two gold, one silver and seven bronze medals.
New Caledonia has extended its lead on the medal tally with 16 gold, 15 silver and four bronze while Tahiti is second with 14 gold, 4 silver and 4 bronze and Papua New Guinea sits third with six gold, three silver and three bronze.
