Fiji settled for third position at the Scotland 7s after beating Australia 31-17 in the 3rd and 4th playoffs this morning.

The national side failed to reach the final after being beaten 26-21 by England in the semifinal. 

Both sides were tied 21 all after full time but England managed to score a try through Matt Turner during extra time.

Fiji earlier beat Samoa 34-10 in the quarter final.

Meanwhile New Zealand is on track to winning the IRB World 7s series title after beating England 29-14 in the Scotland 7s final this morning.

The Kiwis displayed another mesmerizing performance with inspirational skipper DJ Forbes leading from the front after scoring two tries in the final of his 50th tournament.

All New Zealand needs to do now is reach the plate final of this weekend’s England 7s to claim their 10th IRB 7s series title.

Captain DJ Forbes said the job is half done.


Fiji takes on Spain at 9.30pm Saturday, then Zimbabwe at 12.36am Sunday. 

Fiji’s final pool match is at 5.22am Sunday.

The Cup quarters kick off at 9.58pm Sunday.
