Team Fiji has won a bronze medal from the weightlifting competition this morning.

Newcomer Bill Andrews settled for the bronze after finishing third in the Men’s 69kg category.

Kiribati's Tekaei Temake took out the gold with Samoa getting the silver.

Team Fiji is expected to win more medals in the weightlifting competition this afternoon.

They now have 31 gold, 16 silver and 16 bronze medals.

Meanwhile, Fiji failed to win any medals in the triathlon event.

Rupeni Seasea finished in 8th place in men's division while Seini Dakuilagi was placed 31st and Leena Pratt 27th in the women’s division.

Lawn bowls, sailing, squash and the table tennis competition continues in the Cook Islands.

The Pacific Mini Games ends on Saturday.
