Prime Minister, Voreqe Bainimarama says Fiji required no push from anyone to have elections as it was always the country’s intention to have truly democratic elections.

While speaking at the United Nations General Assembly in New York earlier today, Bainimarama says he is happy that those who were criticising Fiji are now engaging with the government.

Bainimarama also says a constitution based on equal citizenry is working well in Fiji.

The Prime Minister says democracy is also working well in Fiji.

He says our economy has grown over 4 percent over the last 3 years, domestic investment is up, construction is up, tourism is up and job offerings are up.

Bainimarama says this is directly linked to Fiji’s new democracy.
