The Fiji Airways Mens National 7s team has qualified for the quarterfinal of the Las Vegas 7s after they beat Wales 33-14.

Mesulame Kunavula started the scoring for Fiji as the national side took a 5-0 lead.

Wales produced some magic of their own as a brilliant off-load saw Wales take a 7-5 lead.

Jerry Tuwai scored his first try of the tournament as Fiji regained a 12-7 lead.

Waisea Nacuqu got Fiji’s third try as Fiji led 19-7 at halftime.

Kalione Nasoko produced a outstanding off-load for Alasio Naduva to score his first try of the weekend as the national side led 26-7.

Paula Dranisinukula scored Fiji’s fifth try after Meli Derenalagi stole the ball from the ruck.

Wales scored a consolation but it was too late as Fiji won 33-14.

Fiji had earlier beaten Scotland 36-12 in the first game.

Nasoko says now it’s about recovery and focusing on tomorrow.

Australia’s Lewis Holland says 7s is anyone’s game.

Fiji will now face Australia at 7.52am tomorrow which will decide who goes as the group winners.

The Cup quarterfinals will start at 1.46pm tomorrow, semifinals will start at 9.12am Monday and the Cup final will kick off at 12.30pm Monday.
