The China Railway First Group Limited which has recently been awarded contracts for a number of projects stressed that it is not new to Fiji.

According to the Deputy Manager Song Tian-peng, they have maintained their reputation since December, 2008, when their first contract was awarded to the company to construct the new Naqali bridge.

The project was successfully completed two months before the completion date.

He also highlighted, last month they signed the contract with Housing Authority to undertake the housing project which is valued at approximately F$70 million.

Tian-peng added they will also be signing a contract with the Public Rental Board to undertake another housing project in Raiwaqa.

Meanwhile, Permanent Secretary for Agriculture Colonel Mason Smith signed a contract with the company for the Rewa River dredging.

Smith acknowledged their contribution as the $8.9 million project will be completed by March next year.
