It will be a repeat of last week’s New Zealand 7s quarter final when the Digicel Fiji 7s team meets Samoa in the third cup quarter final in the USA 7s in Las Vegas this afternoon at 5.44pm.

Fiji defeated Australia 35-10 with Peni Gaunimeke scoring the first try for a 7-0 lead but Australia bounced back at the restart to close the score-line at 7-5.

Captain Emosi Vucago led by example when he fends off an Australian defender for Fiji second try and a 14-5 lead at half-time.

Gaunimeke crossed for Fiji’s third try after a mistake from the Australian with the 21-5 lead in the start of the second half which was later reduced to 21-10.

Prop Jerry Burotu showed his strength when he beat three defenders to score the fourth try with a 28-10 lead before Miti Nacagilevu crossed the line for the 35-10 win.

Even the commentator was amazed by Nacagilevu who again proved to be a class of his own in this game.
