Fiji is playing catch-up with regards to the various goals under the United Nations Millennium Development Goals.
That was the sentiment of the Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum while pre-launching the UN Campaign in partnership with the Pacific Island News Association last night with the theme "Stand Up Take Action against Poverty".
Sayed-Khaiyum highlighted key policies that Government is implementing to meet the MDG targets.
Ten years ago officials from 189 countries took part in a meeting at the United Nations in New York and made a promise to achieve 8 goals to make the world a better place by 2015.
World Leaders will gather for the UN Millennium Development Goals Review Summit this month to talk about the progress made so far.
Sayed Khaiyum also stressed that under the Peoples Charter for Change, these targets will be met.
