Team Fiji has jumped to second place on the official medal tally of the 2007 Pacific Games. They now have 12 gold, 7 silver and 16 bronze.

Team Fiji managed to win 7 gold, 5 silver and 8 bronze medals from yesterday's competition.

Weight-lifter Joe Vueti won 3 gold medals while Men's Touch rugby side successfully defended their gold medal after beating Samoa 6-4 in the final and Glen Kable won gold in the Shooting competition.

The other 2 gold medals were won by Sisilia Nasiga in the Judo competition.

Meanwhile New Caledonia still remains in first place on the medal standings with 12 gold, 7 silver and 11 bronze.

Papua New Guinea is in third place with 11 gold, 5 silver and 5 bronze with Nauru in fourth with 8 gold, 6 silver and 7 bronze.
