Interim Finance Minister, Mahendra Chaudhry has strongly hit out at Academics and Politicians who have continually pressured the Interim Government to have democracy in the country.
Chaudhry said that Fiji never had democracy in the past even though it had an elected Government in power.
Chaudhry adds that he also opposes the electrol system which is in the 1997 constitution because it is not based on democratic principles.
Chaudhry stresses that the Peoples Charter for Change should be accepted and provisions of the Charter should be embodied in the constitution.
