Fiji needs a well represented and independent body to oversee the Justice system and to make sure that the process of choosing Judges is not biased.

The Judicial services Commission compromising of the Chief Justice, the Chairman of the Public service Commission and the President of the Fiji Law Society is set up to carry out the watch dog role on the Justice system and to recommend qualified judges to the President, also looks at complaints against members of the judiciary.

However, Connors highlights that the Commission needs to be more open in their dealings if they want the public to maintain their faith in the Judiciary System.
