The national hockey sides is continuing their superb form in the Federation of International hockey league and Oceania Pacific cup as they have remained unbeaten after day four of competition.
Our men’s team beat a much favored Australian country side 3-1 yesterday on penalty strokes after the match was tied 1-all while the women’s team hammered Papua New Guinea 12 nil.
The national men’s team has a game at hand and the women’s side has two matches remaining but both teams are guaranteed a spot in the medal playoffs for the FIH world league on Friday and a final’s berth in the Oceania Pacific cup on Saturday.
In other matches yesterday, NZ Maori women’s thrashed Vanuatu 16-nil, NZ Maori men’s beat Papua New Guinea 7-2 while Australia Country women’s beat Samoa 12-nil.
Meanwhile, our women’s team will play Australian country today at 1pm while the men’s side will face Vanuatu at 3pm.
