The Fiji men’s beach volleyball team has qualified for the semifinal after beating New Caledonia by 2 sets in the quarterfinal earlier this afternoon.
In boxing, Fiji’s Winston Hill also qualified for the semifinal tomorrow after a TKO against Tuvalu’s Moala Itiniu in the first round of the men’s welterweight 69kg division quarterfinal.
Looking at tonight’s competitions, Milika Tuivanuavou is aiming to win another gold medal in the women’s Triple Jump final of the Pacific Games at 8 tonight.
Tuivanuavou who earlier won gold in the women’s shot put will be facing stiff competition from Rellie Kaputin of Papua New Guinea.
Meanwhile Pacific Sprint-King Banuve Tabakaucoro is the favorite to win the men’s 200 metres final after clocking the fastest time in the heats with a time of 21.47sec.
The 200m semifinals will start at 6.15 tonight while the final will be at 8.45 tonight.
The 4x400m relay finals will also be held at 9.45 tonight.
Looking at the medal tally, Papua New Guinea is still leading with 53 gold, 45 silver and 41 bronze, New Caledonia is in second place with 47 gold, 38 silver and 39 bronze, Tahiti is now in third place with 29 gold, 24 silver and 25 bronze.
Fiji is in fourth place with 26 gold, 33 silver and 26 bronze.
