Fiji has lost to Samoa 31-17 in the final of the Fiji Water Centennial Oceania 7s tournament.

Earlier, the American Samoan 7s side created history after qualifying for the first time ever to the next Hong Kong 7s tournament.

The Islanders managed to beat rivals Papua New Guinea in the 5th and 6th place Oceania playoffs 29-19.

In the Oceania playoffs, Australia beat Cook Islands 49-5 to finish in third place while the Cooks took fourth place.

In the International 7s, France beat the Fiji Warriors 14-12 to finish in third place.

The final of the International tournament is currently underway.
