Fiji's dream of winning the first USA 7s title in Las Vegas has been shattered after losing to New Zealand 12-7 in their last pool match this morning.

New Zealand dominated the match scoring two tries through Gillies Kaka and Waisake Naholo while Fiji's only try came from Emosi Mulevoro.

The loss sees Australia qualify as runners up from pool B while New Zealand proceeds to the Cup quarters undefeated from pool play.

Meanwhile Fiji defeated Scotland in their first pool match 24-nil and later lost to Australia 22-21.

Fiji will now meet Uruguay in the Bowl quarterfinal at 1.30pm. 

The Cup quarter finals kicks off at 1.52 this afternoon with defending champions South Africa taking on Argentina, Samoa will meet Australia at 2.14pm, Canada to take on France at 2.36pm while New Zealand meets England at 2.58pm.

In other results of the pool games that were played this morning Australia beat Scotland 26-7, England thrashed Uruguay 43-5, South Africa defeated Kenya 19-7 while Samoa ousted Portugal 35-0.
