Fiji has lost their final pool match against England 14-7 in a slippery Prince Chichibu stadium.

It was a reverse of last week's score line where Fiji beat England in the semi finals of the Hong Kong 7s.

Some scrappy play saw England ran in two tries to Tom Mitchell and speed merchant Dan Norton.

Metuisela Talebula scored Fiji's lone try in the second half.

The national side could have leveled the game in the dying seconds but a diving James Rodwell stripped the ball off Sikeli Vuruna's hand as the naval officer was heading for the try line.

Fiji will now meet neighbors Samoa in the third Cup quarter final at 2:12pm tomorrow.
