Today marks the UN International Year of the Youth with the theme "Dialogue and Mutual Understanding: Our Year Our Voice" with Fiji is leading the world in the celebrations.
Youth Coalition Fiji, a partnership of fifteen youth groups, NGO's and clubs will be marking the day by hosting, a fund-raising event called "HOOPLA".
Representative, William Simpson said it is a timely recognition that young people can be counted on to build stronger nations.
Simpson said the special day will be an opportunity to highlight issues that youths face.
The event will be held at the Albert Park Pavilion, in the evening and all proceeds will go to a public fund used by NGO's and community groups to help build stronger communities.
