The Vodafone Fiji U20 soccer side has been knocked out of the FIFA U20 World Cup after losing 3-0 to Uzbekistan yesterday.
Uzbekistan had most of the possession in the first half but they missed a number of opportunities.
The second half was the same story as Uzbekistan held much of the possession and kept applying pressure.
They finally broke the deadlock in the 62nd minute of the match with Eldor Shomurodov.
A minute later Uzbekistan increased their lead with Zabikhillo Urinboev scoring.
With a few seconds remaining for the final whistle, Uzbekistan sealed victory with another goal.
Fiji Coach Frank Farina said he was disappointed with the manner that the first goal against Fiji was conceded but he is proud of how the boys performed and held themselves.
He said the players showed not only everyone but themselves that given an opportunity they can compete.
