Benito Eremasi was the hero for the Digicel Fiji Sevens team as he scored a last minute try to help Fiji beat France 19-17 a while ago to reach its first ever bowl final in the New Zealand 7s tournament.

Joji Ragamate scored two tries as France led Fiji 12-7 at half time.

It was a scrappy affair with Captain Setefano Cakau was sin bin during the game.

Fiji will meet Canada at 7pm in the bowl final.  

Meanwhile, hosts and defending NZ 7's Champion, New Zealand is the only side to have made all four Cup quarterfinals this season and booked their place in the semifinal by beating neighbor Australia 24-5 thanks to two tries from Giles Kaka.

In what was arguably the most entertaining quarterfinal, Kenya defeated African rivals South Africa 21-20. 

Having trailed 15-7 and 20-14, Willy Ambaka scorched away to score his second try of the match to snatch a 21-20 victory for Mike Friday's side with four missed conversions proving decisive for South Africa.

In the first Cup quarterfinal, England beat Scotland 31-7 with two tries from Marcus Watson and Dan Norton, will face Samoa in the first semifinal after the islanders defeated Argentina by the same score. 

It is the first Cup competition Ben Ryan's side has competed in this season, having missed out in the first three rounds.

England will take on Samoa in the first semifinal at 5.35pm while New Zealand takes on Kenya in the second.

The final will be held at 8.30pm
