Fiji hungry for a win
These are the words of Digicel Fiji Sevens team captain Setefano Cakau ahead of the semifinal against Samoa in the USA Sevens this morning at 7.54.
After beating Wales 12-5 in a closely contested match yesterday where Cakau had to lead by example in scoring two tries the Namosi lad said that it is time for Fiji to put last weekend’s loss in NZ behind them.
Cakau knows the importance of the semifinal against Samoa as the race for the top spot in the IRB Sevens points ranking is close.
He added that the plan is for his side to do better than last weekend where they lost to NZ in the final.
Meanwhile Assistant Coach Etuate Waqa said they expect to face a very physical Samoan side in the semi final.
The cup semi final will start at 7.32 this morning with New Zealand meeting South Africa and Fiji will meet Samoa in the next hour at 7.54.
The cup final will be played at 10.28am.
