The Fiji hockey side should be prepared for the new rules that will be used for the first time in Fiji this weekend for the Federation of International hockey league.

Competition manager Gill Gemming said the own goal rule will be introduced in this tournament but Papua New Guinea will have the advantage because they used the rule in their competition last week.

Gemming added the Samoan men’s team will not be taking part but their female counterparts and the Australian country team are expected to arrive today.

Meanwhile, Unwired 4G today announced its partnership with the World Hockey League Round 1 organising committee by providing Wi-Fi internet access for the tournament.

The tournament will kick off this Saturday.
