Fiji has not asked for any help from the Chinese Government regarding assistance needed to battle the ongoing problem of drugs in the country according to the Chinese Ambassador to Fiji Zhou Jian today.

When questioned by fijivillage News on whether China can assist in Fiji’s fight against drugs, Jian says China is ready to help Fiji in terms of battling drugs and they are waiting for the Fiji government to come and negotiate with them to deepen reforms comprehensively.

Jian says China attaches great importance to China-Fiji relations and is willing to help Fiji build its way back to a moderately prosperous society free from drugs.

When questioned by fijivillage News on what type of support China is willing to offer Fiji in terms of battling drugs, Jian says in this journey of mutual trust between the two countries China is ready to offer help and aid Fiji by building rehabilitation centres to care for the drug addicts.

Jian says they are always ready to offer any help that is needed especially in terms of finding employment opportunities for the youths and giving them a decent living.

He says China is ready to highlight and offer solutions to the government if the need arises and hopes Fiji will implement strict anti-drug policies.

Jian adds that youth empowerment is needed in Fiji to help reduce poverty among people.
