Vodafone Fiji Sevens coach Ben Ryan believes that Fiji has a good chance of winning gold at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio.
Speaking to Fijivillage, Ryan said that Fiji can easily match the big nations like New Zealand, Australia and South Africa.
He said but first they will need to improve their performance in the IRB World Sevens series.
Ryan has also highlighted that local players will be selected for the opening leg of the IRB World 7s Series.
He believes that there are players currently training in the squad who are capable of producing the results needed to kick start their campaign.
Ryan confirmed that after the two weeks camp, two teams will then be selected to take part in a local 7s tournament in Ovalau and a tournament in Australia which will also serve as their build up for the first IRB World 7s tournament in Gold Coast.
The first leg of the 2014/2015 IRB Sevens Series in Gold Coast will be held on the 11th and 12th of next month.
