The Vodafone Fiji 7s team lost to USA 24‑19 in the Singapore 7s medal quarterfinals.

Fiji was starved of possession as the Americans dominated in the restarts and worked hard to keep possession throughout the match.

USA led 12‑7 at halftime as Waisea Nacuqu scored Fiji’s first try.

The second half started with USA scoring two tries before Fiji scored two more tries to Josua Vici and Isake Katonibau.

Fiji will now play South Africa in the fifth place play‑off semifinal at 8.26pm.

South Africa lost to Australia 19-17 in the second semis.

In other quarters, New Zealand will meet Canada while England will face Kenya.

The medal semifinals will start at 9.10 tonight while the medal final will be played at 12.30am tomorrow.
